ELECTIVE MODULE: ARID
In this introduction to Wilderness Guiding in Arid environments you’ll build upon the learnings of the first 3 modules of WG1. You’ll deepen your skills on individual preparation on the Go Prepared protocol including risk management, emergency response plan, route planning, leave no trace, nutrition, and equipment.
The heat and sun have all our attention, shade shelter and scorpion free night shelters will be practised and used in many ways. Water filtering and disinfection, dehydration, heath strokes and viper bite control, night and natural navigation will all be on this program. In this module we will pay special attention to wildlife observation and animal tracking making this elective module the most physically challenging of all. Nevertheless, the vibrant life in the arid ecosystems will surprise you!
